TruePath Office does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data, and it has no user accounts, no advertising, and no cross-app tracking. Everything you do with your documents happens on your Mac. The one thing that does leave your device is anonymous crash and usage diagnostics, described below — on by default, switchable off, and never containing your content.
Anonymous diagnostics, and nothing else. The app does not collect, store, or transmit your personal information or the contents of your documents to us or to any third party.
What the diagnostics contain:
docx, xlsx, pdf). Never the file's name, path, or contents. This is the entire usage-analytics set; there are no other events.Processor. This data is processed on our behalf by Google Firebase (Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics). See Google's Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms and Privacy and Security in Firebase.
Your control. Diagnostics are on by default. Turn them off at any time in Settings → Diagnostics → "Share anonymous diagnostics." Switching it off takes effect immediately — no relaunch — and stops all further transmission.
Retention. Data is retained according to Google Firebase's default retention periods: Analytics data for up to 14 months, and Crashlytics crash reports for approximately 90 days, after which Firebase deletes or aggregates it.
We use this data solely to find and fix crashes and to understand which document formats matter. It carries no advertising identifier, is never used to track you across other apps or websites, and is never sold.
All processing — opening, reading, and editing Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and image files, including text formatting, formulas, slides, annotations, signatures, and printing — happens locally on your Mac. Your files and their contents are never uploaded to us or to any external server. Files you open or create stay where you put them on your own device, and the app runs inside Apple's App Sandbox, which limits its access to the files you explicitly choose.
All document work happens offline. The app uses the network in only these cases:
The last two hand off to Apple or to your browser, each governed by its own privacy policy, and we receive no personal information through them. Apart from the diagnostics above, the app sends none of your data to us and never transmits your documents or their contents.
Crash and performance information reaches us three separate ways. Only the first is sent by the app itself.
System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.~/Library/Logs on your Mac for troubleshooting. These are never transmitted; they stay on your disk unless you choose to send one to us yourself. We use all of this solely to find and fix crashes and performance problems. None of it includes the contents of your documents.
The app is sold and downloaded through the Apple App Store. Apple processes your purchase and may share limited, aggregate, non-identifying sales and download statistics with us as the developer. We never receive your name, email, payment details, or Apple ID. Apple's handling of your data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
To do its job, macOS may ask you to grant standard permissions such as access to the files you select, the ability to print, and access to your Downloads folder when you save there. These permissions are used only to perform the action you requested and do not result in any data being collected by us.
The app is suitable for all ages. We collect no personal information from anyone, including children — the only data the app sends is the anonymous diagnostics described above, which contain no personal information and can be switched off in Settings → Diagnostics.
If we change this policy, we will update the "Effective" date above and post the new version at the same URL. Material changes will be reflected before they take effect.
